So Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we went to BBC, The Economist, Publicis, and NBC. These trips were so fun and Neil Foote is amazing for setting these up! People always say the see me out being like an international correspondent for the news (I don't see it-politically. I would totally do it for entertainment or something like that), so it was cool to be in the same buildings that do that. Publicis is an ad firm or agency that deals internationally (the guy we met was responsible for bringing Colgate toothpaste to the UK!), and the Economist is a business magazine.

The next set of photos is from our travels to The Economist and Publicis.
Every guy at this part downtown had on the same color shirts, pants, and shoes-it was like a scene out of a post apocalyptic movie. It was like being in the Candor faction.

Later that night we went to see WICKED! I had never seen this musical, but in orchestra in high school e played some selections, so it was cool to be able to see it. It was actually my first time to a professional musical-I had seen ones in highschool and directed some plays in college. Wicked was-WICKED!! it was so good but the theatre (like most of London) didn't have AC so it was like sitting in black church in Mississippi on Easter Sunday Sunrise Service. I really liked the attention they paid to the set design and costumes, and lights. The spotlight guys had to do a lot of work to follow the singing and acting and dancing and they did a good job!! The main character's voice was AWESOME!! she sand her heart out and she showed true talent with her voice!
one of the many failed selfies! I'm going to do a blog post dedicated to these. And Derica's Fly self!
My ticket!
everything was so green-it was like being at UNT
The stage before the show started
My dorm room view from the balcony
So after Wicked we went to Chipotle (so American yeah?) and the next day we went on a neighborhood walk. This is where as a class, we go to another part of London that isn't so touristy and upscale-so in the event that we want to move here we see what we can afford. This day we went to Brixton. Brixton is a west-African and Caribbean part of London, and it was a part of major riots with police. Here are some photos:
When we first got off of the tube, this is the view

I liked Brixton! It was interesting to see that some of the same things you find in lower income neighborhoods in the states is here. There was a speedy cash place that wasn't in the tourist part where we live, and there were liquor stores on every corner. It's also interesting to see how vibrant London is and how even with the differences of the towns I still love it! here's some cool grafitti I saw while I was there
That weekend most of my class went to Paris on a weekend trip and I decided to take the money that my daddy gave me and spend it in London instead of going to Parisfor 3 days and being broke in London. I also think that I am going to save Paris as a trip for Sterling and myself later. London is enough of a city that I can spend every weekend here and still not see all of it.
Thursday I decided to be in my room (alone since my roommates were gone) and get off of my feet since it was such a busy week. Some people would say that I should have went out and explored London some more because my time is halfway up, but I am totally fine and do not regret my decision not to do anything! I need that down time to just sit on campus and enjoy, I like to have a plan of what to do for the day instead of going without a plan.
Friday I went to Camden Market! Basically Camden market is a long street-very long street with different stalls and tents with clothes, shoes, purses, hats, jewelry, etc. It's kind of like tailgating with all the tents you stop by before an athletics game, but instead of food and beer there are clothes-and they are SO, CHEAP!!!!! I took some good photos. I was going to go to Little Venice afterwards and take a boat so I can explore there, but I ended up spending too much time in Camden Market so I missed the last bus. I will probably go back some time during the week-that's exciting! I purposely didn't bring any cash because I knew I was going to see cute stuff and want to buy it all-and I did want to buy everything I saw! The clothes here are smaller than the US so the Large is a Medium, the Medium is a US small, and so on so I can't really fit any of the cute clothes I see (which is good-I don't spend all my money on clothes, so I spend it on shoes or something else), so I spend my money on food lol.

New orleans restaurant in London. I went inside to see the menu and the decor but it wasn't fully decked out like restaurants in the states. and the little waiter guy and I had a very brief talk about the food...I may call and talk to the owner cause that's super cool! I wonder if he's been? The waiter hasn't but I guess that's the same in the states little young people waiting tables at a restaurant but don't know anything about the place that the restaurant is themed after. Gosh darn millennials

The rest of the weekend I stayed in my room-Saturday my brain was up for going out but my body was not, and the same thing happened sunday! I watched netflix all weekend and that was perfectly fine with me-I have no regrets of not "exploring London" for two days, I'll just have to double or triple up on things for the next two weeks.
I'm starting to miss my family, I miss my mom and my dad and I wish I could call them all the time but when I'm out of class they are at work and when they are off from work it's like midnight here so I'm trying to go to bed....but besides that I love it here still. I don't think i could live here and raise kids here forever and ever Amen because of the cultural differences. In America if we see the same person every day in the bathroom or the cafeteria we will start saying HI. That is not true here or in Europe...I have seen the same people every day who are here from Paris or Italy and they are still shocked when I say hey! And I thought i was used to the bumping into you-but I'm not! This week my patience is lower for the bumping and not saying anything...and the service here is bad! They don't work off of tips they get paid the same no matter if the service is slow or fast or they are nice or not, so it takes 30 minutes to get your food, a long time to get the drink and the waiters aren't friendly like int he US where they have to work to get money so they want to talk to you and make sure you are happy and like your food and always have water or whatever in your glass. Every restaurant experience is like the equivalent of a bad Mcdonalds trip where they get your whole order wrong and are mean in the drive thru.
But besides the cultural stuff, I really like the city and I could see myself living here for maybe a year or two if I got a job and it was contracted for a year or soemthing, but I really wouldn't want to raise kids and stuff here
Next blog post I'll be talking about my time on the Radio and my time in SCOTLAND!!
